Networking is not a new concept, of course, but the internet has taken social networking to a whole new level. Now-a-days networking doesn’t always mean you’ll be meeting in a room somewhere to talk about your favorite past-time.
Thanks to the introduction of instant messaging the concept of socializing on the web has just grown in leaps and bounds. Today there are sites dedicated to social networking; from sites like MySpace, used primarily by the younger crowd, and FaceBook, which you may even being using to networks divided by interests, religion, ethnicity and pretty much everything in between.
Most social networking sites, don’t, however, actually make all these different distinctions. People basically just join the site, and then search or are attracted to whatever interests them including groups, businesses and even individuals.
Some of the more popular social networking sites include: MySpace.com, Facebook.com, Linkedin.com, Squidoo.com and Twitter.com to name a few.
